Do you like to eat family style? It makes me nervous when people won’t pick up a chicken bone in their hand or try to eat a taco with a knife and fork. And then there are those who cringe at the thought of passing around a platter or - god forbid - eating off of someone’s plate. What kind of eater are you?

Hors d’oeuvres at the Hostellerie de Plaisance St. Emilion, France

I love drinking champagne in the middle of the day - and these beautiful treats (the lollypops are fois gras) started our lunch off on the perfect note. Stay at this hotel if you can afford it - the vistas are amazing - or else indulge in the 2 star lunch.
